Two of My Favorite Things

McKenney and Hall Indian Portraiture.  I became enamored of this cultural portraiture in the early 1990s upon seeing a layout of a home in Architectural Digest. A few years later, I found two mid-20th Century lithographs in an antique shop in Elmira, NY. Through my research I have found that the original drawings commissioned in the 1830s and 1840s have been re-created and re-colored several times. My lithographs are slightly different from earlier versions. Since discovering this, I decided to create my own renditions of Moanahonga and Nesouaquoit! I am installing my renderings in two of my trumeaus that I designed and painted. (A trumeau is unique to the 18th Century, France; my designs are Neoclassical in form and line.)
