I’m not about fashion; I’m about living, and that’s been my whole career. And the clothes that I’ve designed and everything I’ve done is about life, and how people live and how they want to live and how they dream they’d live, that’s what I do. –Ralph Lauren, Interview with Oprah Winfrey

My admiration of Ralph Lauren is BIG! I have loved his work for most of my adult life, especially since the 1980s. I have gravitated to his home goods line more often than not. I have viewed the interview that Oprah did with Ralph Lauren multiple times! And, recently I acquired the 50th Anniversary Edition of his book; the images in the book are lovely.
True, that I may be fickle about many designers whom I admire, however, Ralph Lauren is top of my list. I’ve been to his Flagship Store in NYC. When the Outlets carried his home goods, I think I purchased enough to keep their doors open! Well, maybe not that extensive; I exaggerate my love of his Home Collections, and yet, I always consider his textiles and finished goods first.
As a designer and artist, I ask, How would Ralph do this?
